Is AncestryDNA test worth it?

I'm considering getting the AncestryDNA test and wondered if its worth the price, if I already know a great deal about my family tree. I'd be really surprised if my ethnicity percentages came back with anything other than Eastern or Western Europe.  Has anyone found that having done the DNA test, contributes signifcantly to your family tree?
